General Questions
Do I need my own gear?
No! We provide helmets, gloves, and jackets as part of your training fee. You will need sturdy boots with ankle protection, preferably not steel-toe caps. You are welcome to provide your down helmet etc if you have them.
Where are you based?
We are located in Littlehampton with a large, private off-road training facility and easy transport links.
Do I need to know the Highway Code before I arrive?
Yes. You should have a good working knowledge of the Highway Code and UK traffic signs. If an instructor feels your lack of road knowledge makes you a danger to yourself or others, they may have to stop the training for safety reasons.
I wear glasses/contacts; is that an issue?
Not at all, as long as you wear them during the training. You must be able to read a standard UK number plate from a distance of 20.5 metres. We will perform a quick eyesight check at the start of every course.
Is there parking onsite?
There is very limited parking onsite, there is however free parking on Ferry Road, which is just outside the main gate.
Can I train on a Sunday?
Yes! Unlike some other schools, we are open and training 7 days a week.
What do I need to bring with me?
Your driving licence, some lunch/snack and a positive mental attitude.
What if I need to reschedule my booking?
We understand that plans change. We require 7 working days notice to reschedule or cancel a booking. Please refer to our full Terms & Conditions for details on short-notice cancellations.
CBT Questions
What bikes will I use?
For the CBT, you’ll ride our new Honda CB125s or automatic scooters.
What will the CBT enable me to ride?
Once you have your CBT certificate, you will be allowed to a motorcycle up to a 125cc (If 17+) with L-plates. You will not be allow to ride on a motorway or carry a passenger. The CBT will last for 2 years.
Can I ride a manual bike if I did my CBT on an automatic scooter?
Legally, yes—a CBT certificate covers both manual and automatic motorcycles up to 125cc. However, if you’ve never used a clutch, we strongly recommend booking a Gear Conversion session before attempting to ride a manual bike on the road.
How long is my CBT certificate valid for?
Your DL196 (CBT certificate) is valid for two years. If you haven’t passed your full motorcycle test within those two years, you must retake the CBT to continue riding legally on the road.
Do I need to pass my Theory Test before doing a CBT?
No, you don’t need a theory certificate to take your CBT. However, you must pass the motorcycle theory test before you can book your Module 1 or Module 2 practical exams for a full licence.
Can I use my own motorcycle for the training?
Yes, provided it is roadworthy, taxed, insured, and displays full-size ‘L’ plates.
What happens if I don’t reach the required standard on my CBT?
The CBT is a training course, not a “pass/fail” test. If our instructors feel you need more time to be safe on the road, we will invite you back for further training. Your safety is our priority, and we want you to feel confident before heading out alone.
Do I need to pay for the fuel?
On the CBT we cover the cost of the fuel, so once you have paid for your course, you do not need to pay for anything else.
